Steel Springs Pictures is Peter Lawson’s Australian-based production company specialising in developing and producing film and TV projects across a range of genres, from fiction to non-fiction, and has a deep commitment to relaying socially impactful true-life stories. Steel Springs Pictures’ first feature film ALICE, starring Keke Palmer, had its world premiere in Competition at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and was released theatrically in the US by Roadside Attractions and Universal Pictures internationally. Upcoming projects include Amazon Studios’ action-comedy MOXIE, starring Keke Palmer and directed by Amber Templemore, best known for Apple’s SILO and Disney+ series HAWKEYE; UPRISING, alongside Kevin Hart’s HartBeat Independent and written by Taylor Materne (HUSTLE); THE BANKSY with writer Neil Cross; and an Australian-set Untitled Genre Thriller with Dylan River, Shaun Grant and Justin Kurzel. Coming up on the TV front is Amazon / Fremantle series THE PRICE YOU PAY starring Catherine Zeta-Jones from Writer Conor Keane and Showrunner Tom Butterworth shooting in Italy in 2025, and the non-fiction sports series CASH, with Good Thing Productions and tennis legend Pat Cash. In 2024 AACTA-nominated producer Bonnie McBride (SPEEDWAY, DEMONIC) joined Steel Springs Pictures to head up development and production. The company is committed to promoting fresh and innovative voices in the world of cinema and TV, and is particularly interested in pursuing Australian stories, utilising local talent, with the aim to bring unique perspectives and voices to screens worldwide.
